Book Recommendations

I see here that there is a link to many books related to adoption. That's great, but I would love to hear from others who have adopted or are looking to adopt.

What books would you recommend me? I love to read so I figured this would probably be a great way for me to figure some things out and get more information.

Thanks

Books

Hi Amy, I think that it depends a lot on what kind of reading material you're seeking. Do you want something anecdotal, geared more towards describing experiences of others who've adopted, or more knowledge factual based books? Such as those written by psychiatrists and counselors and such?  You could also be looking for more legislative type books about different adoption laws in different parts of the world? So I guess if you were more specific what kind of information you're seeking it may be easier to make suggestions :)

I guess I should have been more specific, huh?  I'm looking for emotional support basically. If there is a first-hand account from someone who wrote about their experiences with adoption, that would be great.  I've heard Twenty Things

I've heard Twenty Things Adopted Kids Wish Their Adoptive Parents Knew is a good book. I know a few people who've said it is an amazing read. I hope that fits what you're looking for. It sounds interesting

What about a book from the

What about a book from the series 'For Dummies'? Those books are usually really great.

 I never realized how many

I never realized how many great adoption books there were out there. I've been searching on Amazon all the time and WOW! There are an endless amount. Thanks for the ideas guys
