I'm with you there. I think about 16 is fine. It all depends on the child too; some children are very mature at younger ages. I would personally say probably 14 at the youngest...
For me, definitely no younger than 13. It all depends on the individual though. Some may be ready, while others aren't mature enough. It's tough to set an exact number..
I think it all depends, I could agree with the ages all of you have listed but it's hard to pick an age off the top of my head without having a child in mind. I personally like 16 the most because I would feel guilty about leaving my child home if they were younger. That's just me though.
I would personally never let a child babysit until they are a teenager, and even then I'd be a little iffy about it. I'd have talks with them to see if they feel ready as well.
