...know when my child is old enough to babysit?

 This is something I've heard a lot of debate about lately, so I was wondering what you guys think. I would say, no younger than 15. Maybe even 16.

 I'm with you there. I think about 16 is fine. It all depends on the child too; some children are very mature at younger ages. I would personally say probably 14 at the youngest...

 I think it all depends, I could agree with the ages all of you have listed but it's hard to pick an age off the top of my head without having a child in mind. I personally like 16 the most because I would feel guilty about leaving my child home if they were younger. That's just me though.

 I would personally never let a child babysit until they are a teenager, and even then I'd be a little iffy about it. I'd have talks with them to see if they feel ready as well.
