How much of a savings cushion do you think would be best to have if you are about to have a child? (Whether adopted or not) I think this is something most people don't plan very well. Just curious what you guys think.

Amy Posted at 04:42 on Tue, 09/13/2011This is a very hard question to answer. Of course, saving money is very hard. I would say at least a few grant but $10,000 is the number that pops into my mind. I know most people cannot do that but it would be nice. I wish I had that much money as a cushion!!

Beth Posted at 02:42 on Wed, 09/28/2011It's hard to pick an exact number because it depends on how much you make, what kind of bills you have etc. I would say, the more you can save up; the better. There are even people who have no savings whatsoever when they have children and they somehow figure out how to afford everything. I think a lot of this kinda stuff will come to you once you have kids :)
