What do they have against adoption?

I've come across many individuals who don't seem to agree with adoption. I don't understand where they're coming from. Could anyone enlighten me? I've had people straight up tell me, I should have my own children, not adopt. I'm seriously confused by this because in my eyes, I'm helping a child have a better life. Am I missing something obvious?

That's the only thing I can think of. I'm sorry they're saying these things to you.. that would have thrown me off as well....

Some parents just cannot keep their children and I only see the positive in giving them a better home. I can't imagine the pain one must feel when they have to say goodbye to their baby though. That must be heartbreaking.
