I'm a firm believer in adopting no matter your age. I do however, feel that people who are older should have a back up plan in case anything were to happen to them. As long as there is a good, stable plan in place, I don't see anything wrong with an elderly person adopting; as long as they are capable of taking proper care of the child.

I see where you're coming
Johnathen Posted at 02:38 on Mon, 07/18/2011I see where you're coming from but I also think you can be too old. I say this because a child moving from one home to the next so quickly is very traumatizing. The adoption agency wouldn't be able to keep track of everyone involved. While it would be nice, it's something that would make adopting too difficult. Agencies have enough to deal with already.
Good point. I hadn't
Bubblez Posted at 19:23 on Sat, 07/23/2011Good point. I hadn't thought about that part of it before. That would be hard on the child.
I see both points but I
Amy Posted at 19:35 on Sat, 07/23/2011I see both points but I think adopting is adopting and every child deserves a home. Yes, it may be harder for an older person to take care of a child but if they do a good job, I think it's fine.
I think you're right. You
NewMommy Posted at 18:05 on Sat, 07/30/2011I think you're right. You are never too old to adopt. These poor children needs home desperately. They don't care who they go home with, as long as you treat them right and they get to live the lives they've dreamed of for so long.
